Maastricht vs Eindhoven FC PREVIEW & PREDICTION 05/04/2019

MVV really has to win again to keep a chance of the play-offs. On Friday evening another direct competitor is on the program with FC Eindhoven.

MVV:

MVV was in excellent shape at the end of February. After coach Ron Elsen’s team had won no fewer than five games in a row, the team from Maastricht were firmly in a play-off position. In the meantime, the lead has disappeared like snow in the sun, because in the meantime the series of games without victory has been extended to six games. In the four meetings with direct competitors for the play-offs, Almere City, RKC Waalwijk, Roda JC and FC Volendam, the team took only three points. As a result, the first three teams have surpassed MVV in the rankings.

Next Friday a new direct competitor is scheduled with FC Eindhoven. With a new defeat, the play-offs become a very difficult story for the Star Carriers. Last Monday, no confidence was filled. The fact that MVV returned home from the Castle with a 2-0 defeat did not raise many eyebrows, but the way was worrying. In the first half, the goal of Luuk Koopmans acted as a shooting gallery and it was a miracle that both teams rested with 0-0. In the first five minutes after the break Sparta put things in order with two hits, but then forgot to walk further. MVV had very little opposition to that and could be glad it stayed at 2-0.

FC Eindhoven:

FC Eindhoven travels with confidence to Maastricht, because the team of trainer David Nascimento is in an excellent form. The team is one of the better teams in the second half of the season and achieved no fewer than 24 points in the 13 games played in 2019. Because of this good series, the second team from the City of Light has approached the play-offs to one point. With a good result in Maastricht, the team can rise to the left row.

FC Eindhoven has been five matches in a row without defeat. In this series, the number two kept Sparta at 0-0 and treated FC Dordrecht with a monster defeat 8-1. The team was until then one of the least scoring teams of the Kitchen Champion Division, but in recent weeks Elijah Sam, Branco van den Boomen and Elton Kabangu have demonstrated the attacking qualities of the Eindhoven team. However, the power of the team is in the back. So far, Eindhoven only collected 37 goals, only the leaders FC Twente and Sparta had to allow fewer goals.

PREDICTION: Both teams to score / YES @ 1.52
