On Thursday, starting at 17:55, Slavia Prague – Genk, from the sixteen European Championships, the first game, the 2018-2019 edition, will be played.
The two bands have not met in European competitions so far.
Slavia Praga is the leader of the Czech championship with 52 points in the ranking, with 6 over Viktoria Plzen. Alexandru Baluta lost easily, but surely the place in the band in the capital of the Czech Republic, in the last round, not even on the bench. The novel scored only 2 goals, and this summer will leave the Prague group, more definitely. “White-red” crosses an exceptional season on their own, suffering a single failure in all competitions, 0-2 with Jablonec.
Genk is a band like Slavia, but the main performances come from traveling. The Belgians were defeated once only on an external field in all competitions, 1-3 with Sarpsborg in the Europa League. Roman midfielder Vladimir Screciu failed to make a debut for Genk, being injured since signing the contract with the Belgians. Philippe Clement’s team is heading for a new championship title, with 11 points ahead of Club Brugge.
We anticipate a very balanced double, in which Belgians can have a slight advantage.
