Fulham vs Tottenham PREVIEW & PREDICTION 20/01/2019

Sunday, at 16:00, Tottenham must do without Harry Kane’s services on his way from Fulham in the 23rd round of the Premier League. The English striker was injured in the derby with Manchester United (0-1) and will miss the lawn for two months, so in his place will be used in attack Lucas Moura and Fernando Llorente.

From a value point of view, Tottenham is superior to Fulham, but that can not guarantee success, because Claudio Ranieri’s students can be tough on Craven Cottage. In addition, Fulham has a complete bout, unlike Tottenham, who is visiting his rival without injuries Kane, Wanyama, Dembele, Dier and Sissoko. In addition, Lucas Moura has knee problems and is not 100% fit for the Sunday afternoon duel.

Tottenham is third in the Premier League (goal 46-22), but has a hard fight with Chelsea for the podium. Ultimately, Mauricio Pochettino’s goal remains to qualify for the next edition of the UEFA Champions League, because the title fight has become a two-way deal between Manchester City and Liverpool. Fulham is on 19th place (20-49) and comes after three consecutive failures with Burnley (1-2) and Arsenal (1-4) in the championship and Oldham in the Cup (1-2). Black and white have a good offensive potential, especially as they have just transferred Ryan Babel, who will join the attack of Mitrovic, Sessegnon and Schurrle.

Tottenham was on the wave before United failed, one that was somewhat unfair to Spurs. The hosts played well but received a goal just before the break (Rashford), and then dominated the hostilities in the second half. Even though Pogba could make 2-0 for “devils”, Spurs resisted and had huge opportunities missed by Alli and Kane, which could have brought a draw deserved for the Londoners. It was Tottenham’s first goal after three official games won to scratch. In spite of the lot problems Pochettino faces, Spurs remains a valuable team, and players like Eriksen and Son could make a difference on Sunday.

It is worth noting that Tottenham won the last four consecutive duels with Fulham, including two Craven Cottage trips with 2-1 and 3-0. Pochettino’s team has the best Premier League balance on the move (10 wins and two failures), while Fulham has won 3 wins in 10 home games, receiving 19 goals so far.
