Goztepe vs Rizespor PREVIEW & PREDICTION 05/11/2018

In the Monday match of the 11th game day of the Turkish Süper Lig are now the teams of Göztepe Izmir and Caykur Rizespor on the field opposite. Göztepe currently occupies the ninth place after having to give up three places due to the recent defeat against Akhisarpsor. Since almost all direct table neighbors have not yet completed their eleventh season game at this moment, for Göztepe there is a risk in case of defeat of teams like Konyaspor be caught, which is two points back. But Bursaspor, Kayserispor and Alanyaspor could catch up and Göztepe lose one or two more ranks. At the top you can not let Malatyaspor, Trabzonspor and Ankaragücü pull away. In the event of a victory, you could at least tie points with Bestika’s Istanbul.

The newcomer Rizespor occupies the penultimate place with eight points and is tied to bottom of Erzurumspor. Since Rizespor is the only team of the four last-placed, which has not yet completed the eleventh matchday, there is the possibility with a win at least past Fenerbahce Istanbul and thus leave the relegation zone. This would, moreover, mean that Fenerbahce Istanbul would be on a relegation place until the next match. A hitherto unthinkable event in Turkish football.

Göztepe:

As in the last season, the performance of Göztepe is again very variable this year. Wins and defeats almost alternate in a regular pattern. Out of ten matches, exactly five were won and five lost. Very striking in Göztepe is at least that of these five wins four were brought home and passed the four of the five defeats in a strange place. The home advantage for Göztepe is thus conspicuous like almost no other team. The only home defeat was taken on the first matchday against Malatyaspor, however, the season opener in the analysis can be neglected, as Göztepe suffered early in the game two place referrals and the game thus does not affect the other home strength. Rather, this also shows how motivated Göztepe goes to games in his hometown Izmir works.

That Göztepe in principle belongs to the strongest teams in the Süper Lig, has been proved by the victory against Besiktas and Fenerbahce. However, Göztepe still lacks the ability to score important points abroad. The defeat against the until then bottom club Akhisarpsor proves this unfortunately. After an early goal Göztepe was despite slight superiority no longer able to turn the game. Göztepe has strengthened personnel, especially in the storm massively. Of the newcomers, the German-Turk Yasin Öztekin is the most successful scorer, with five goals. Due to injury, Deniz Kadah will miss Sturm, Andre Castro and Kerem Kesgin in midfield, as well as Adama Traore in defense. However, Göztepe is still in a good position. The only risk factor is the too nervous and lazy-prone defense.

Rizespor:

As a newcomer and reigning champion of the second Turkish league, the team of Caykur Rizepsor is only on the penultimate place. Despite all the fight and will, only one game has been won so far and that was a 3-0 win over Fenerbahce Istanbul, but at times they were completely out of the game. However, this shows what Rizespor is at a standstill in standing, if mission, luck and above all more serenity once come together. After ten games, Rizespor lost only four and thus even less than Göztepe.

Three of the four defeats were also narrowly retracted, that is, only one goal difference to the opponent. Goal scoring also works very well at Rizespor so far. After all, they have scored seven times in the last four games, averaging 1.75 times per game. On the other hand, you had to accept six goals in the last three games. In the storm, Rizespor is well placed, but a real scorer is missing so far. In midfield and defense, Rizespor is also weakened by failures and barriers. Major left-back Armand Traore is injured and right-back Orhan Ovacikli is red-flagged. In midfield, two of the three central midfielders are also missing. Coach Okan Buruk has few tactical options in this position.

PREDICTION: Goztepe to win @ 1.65
