RB Leipzig vs Hannover PREVIEW & PREDICTION 15/09/2018

RB Leipzig did not start strongly in the new season. The club from Saxony is still waiting for the first victory. The home game of Saturday afternoon against Hannover 96 seems a great opportunity to catch it. Of course, the Hanoverians will not let this happen without a struggle.

RB Leipzig:

RB Leipzig has not yet reached the top form in the beginning weeks of this season. In the fourth qualifying round of the Europa League, an early elimination was prevented in the nick of time, and the performance of Die Roten Bullen in the Bundesliga is far from awe-inspiring. In the opening round, 4-1 were lost to Borussia Dortmund. A week later, Leipzig played a 1-1 draw against promovendus Fortuna Düsseldorf. What worried was that RBL football was not better than Düsseldorf and was not entitled to the three point.

“We can not give our opponents so many opportunities,” trainer Ralf Rangnick said at the Thursday press conference. However, Rangnick himself is also part of the problem, as it has circulated the necessary in the center of his defense. Willi Orban did well in the past, and perhaps deserves a permanent place. What also does not help is that the new backs Marcelo Saracchi and Nordi Mukiele are still searching for their new club. Linksback Marcel Halstenberg is still missing at RBL.

Hannover 96:

Hannover 96 started the new football year with two draws. After the 1-1 in the regional derby against Werder Bremen, Die Roten played a 0-0 draw against Borussia Dortmund two weeks ago, in a match without too many highlights. Offensively, Hannover did not play much. In the international break, coach Andre Breitenreiter planned an exhibition game. H96 won 0-4 against fellow townsman HSC Hannover (Oberliga Niedersachsen, fifth level). For what it is worth, of course.

Since Hannover has a fairly wide selection and there are currently few injured people, Breitenreiter has a lot to choose from. Striker Henrik Weydandt seems to be used for the role as pinchhitter for now. Defender Waldemar Anton was active during the interland period for Germany Under-21, where he was the captain in the match against Ireland Under-21 (0-6 victory). “To be allowed to wear the band is a special expression of appreciation,” said the young defender, who also shed light on Saturday’s match. “After two draws, we want to take the first three points of the season.”
