The Monday-evening games are not usually the most attractive matches of the game, but for Levante against Celta de Vigo I’m going to sit well next Monday. Levante is in a flow and plays the tiles from the roof!
Levante:
I thought that the success formula of trainer Paco Lopez would have been worked out once, but nothing is less true. After he saved the club from Valencia last season with a series of formidable results for La Liga, the redblue also achieved a resounding victory last week in the opening game of the new season. With captain Jose Luis Morales in the lead, no less than 0-3 was won by the not-sick Real Betis. The last time Levante came out of the starting blocks was in the 2000-2001 season, with a 4-1 victory over Atletico Madrid. That was, however, in the Segunda Division.
Levante could therefore grow into one of the big revelations this season. The fans are also full of confidence, because a record number of season tickets have been sold. I continue to find it phenomenal what Lopez manages to bring to the Ciutat de Valencia, because outside Morales and Enis Bardhi the selection of Los Granotas is not that special. In one way or another, however, he has managed to touch the sensitive string. The players go for each other through the fire and blaze the self-confidence.
Celta de Vigo:
For Celta de Vigo, the start of the competition might be a bit too early. The Galiciers clearly have to get used to the new trainer Antonio Mohamed, who was appointed in the Balaidos this summer. Last week, the blue shirts in the home game against Espanyol did not go beyond a 1-1 tie in a fierce game.
It remains to be seen whether Celta de Vigo will be her male on Monday evening. Maxi Gomez and of course Iago Aspas are the obvious star players, but they can not do it alone either. Left winger Pione Sisto played a dragon of a game last week and will probably be sacrificed in favor of Sofiane Boufal. I am not too pleased with the defense, even though Mohamed simply has nothing better at his disposal. I therefore fear that it will be a long and difficult season for Celta de Vigo.
PREDICTION: Over 2.5 goals @ 2.05
