In the first hand of the Europa League play-off, on Thursday, August 23, starting at 19:00, the Dudelange – CFR Cluj game will be played. The confrontation will take place on “Stade Jos Nosbaum”. The host team suffered only a defeat in the six matches already played in European Cups.
The hosts managed to make the big surprise in the previous tour of the Europa League, after removing Legia Warsaw. The 2-1 victory in Poland was followed by a 2-2 home draw, but it was enough to secure the play-off qualifying. The Luxemburgs lost their victory in the second leg, finishing in the 86th minute. Established in 1991, and representing a total anonymous championship in European football, Dudelange has 14 championship titles. The team is quoted at 4 million euros on transfermarkt.de, six times less than CFR. The star of the Luxembourg is David Turpel (25), a player who also evolved to the national team and scored 30 goals in the previous season.
On the other side, Toni Conceico’s arrival on the technical bench seems to be a good omen for the “burgers”.
