The World Cup in Russia is entering a rest day today, so we have the time to look to Bulgaria. There is the first title of the season to be awarded when in the Bulgarian football supercup reigning champions Ludogorez Razgrad meets the reigning Cup winners Slavia Sofia. The advantage should actually be clear at Razgrad. Not only did they enjoy the home advantage at the Ludogorets Arena, they also clearly won their last seven direct matches against Slavia. However, Rasgrad, the series champion of the past six years, could bring the Supercup home only twice. The last three went even in succession to each of the cup winners, of which only one really was one of the Bulgarian top teams. We also see good chances for the cup winner this year and recommend a tip to the outsider from Sofia, we trust at least one draw in the regular season. As already noted, Ludogorez Razgrad is the Bulgarian series champion and has been regularly represented on the international scene during this time. Everything will probably be subordinated to this goal, especially since the qualification is already due in one week. Accordingly, the team of head coach Dimitar Dimitrov is already in the midst of the preparations for the upcoming season. In order to collect match practice, four friendly matches have been played in recent weeks, of which against Wacker Innsbruck (2: 1), Akhmat Grozny (3: 1) and the Young Boys Bern (2: 1) was won. Only against Qarabağ Ağdam it was enough in the end only to a 1-1 draw.
Slavia Sofia:
Slavia Sofia finished last season only in seventh place in the main round and then retired already in the first round of the Europa League final round. Too tragic, the early exit in the final round should not have been, could the team of coach Ivan Kolew but already bring the Bulgarian Football Cup home, which automatically entitles to participate in the Europa League qualification. Since this also starts in the coming week, Sofia is just like the upcoming opponent in an advanced stage of preparations, even if the opponents have not been as well-known as that of Rasgrad. So was a defeat against Botev Vratsa (2: 4) initially a clear win against Rabotnički (3: 0). In the last two test matches then followed two draws against Septemvri Sofia (1: 1) and against Gandzasar (3: 3).
