On Monday, June 4, in a friendly setting, starting at 19:00, the Serbia-Chile game will be played. The confrontation will take place at the “Merkur-Arena” in Graz (Austria).
The Serbs managed to secure their presence for the second time in a world, after dominating Group D, which included teams from Ireland, Wales and Austria. The same thing did not happen in the next friendly games, the course being rather oscillating. However, in their last friendly match in March, they had a strong performance against Nigeria, which they scored 2-0. Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic scored both goals, confirming once again the good shape he crossed to the national team. In the last 11 games scored not less than 8 goals. Before the final tournament, Serbia will still have a final match on June 9 against Bolivia.
On the other side, with a top 11 starless, South Americans succumbed to the national team in a game disputed last day in May. Although they managed 2-1 in the 52nd minute, they did not last until the end. Thus, they have only two wins won in the last 11 games played. In six rows, Sanchez & co. they have not even found the way to the opposing goal. Things are not at all encouraging for Chile, who will be fighting a friendly match this month against Poland.
