Galatasaray vs Konyaspor PREVIEW & PREDICTION 11/03/2018

GALATASARAY VS KONYASPOR PREVIEW & PREDICTION

It is for Galatasray Istanbul on Matchday 25 of the Süper Lig nothing short of defending the championship lead against the relegated battle of Atiker Konyaspor club. Galatasaray are equal on points with Basaksehir, Istanbul, who have had a very good win with 12 goals more than their closest competitor, Basaksehir. Due to the equality of points, however, the championship lead can be lost to Basaksehir very quickly. Therefore, the home game against Konyaspor must be a clear mandatory victory.

That’s what coach Fatih Appointment will be well aware of. For Konyaspor, however, it is a game against relegation, which seems to be slowly becoming more likely. There are already three points clear of the 15th-placed Alanyaspor to catch up. In addition, Osmanlispor is tied as second to last with Konyaspor and can pass by a point win at any time to Konyaspor and thus drop the club on the penultimate place. After Konyaspor finished ninth in the Süper Lig last season and won the Turkish Cup of Nations for the first time after a surprise win against Basaksehir, the current season is more than sobering.

Galatasaray:

After the canter victories in the 5-0 against Bursaspor and the 0: 7 against away against Karabükspor Galatasaray should be winged and the confidence to be high accordingly. Although these victories were mandatory victories, among others against the bottom of the table, the victories were certainly unpredictable in their height. But here was proved what Galatasaray can do. If the Tormaschinerie in particular with Gomis and also Rodrigues is in full swing and the ball is running, then Galatasaray is hard to beat in the Süper Lig. By the last two victories you could finally recapture the championship leadership of Basaksehir and will certainly not play this against Konyaspor lightly. At least Galatasaray is by far the best team in the league at home. The balance is impressive. In their own stadium Galatasaray has lost since May 2017 no more game and of 18 competitive games were won at home 16 games. In addition, it is worth noting that Galatasaray’s offensive scored a total of 50 goals in these 18 games at home, averaging almost 2.8 goals per game. No other team in the Süper Lig can match this outstanding cut. The only defeats this year were suffered away against Sivaspor and Kasimpasa, with two narrow 2-1.

Konyaspor:

Konyaspor has been commuting to relegation places in the lower third of the table since the start of the season, but has been able to win two notable draws in his own city against Besiktas and Basaksehir. The fact that Konyaspor can still be dangerous to the top teams has thus been proved several times. However, the few point gains were not enough to sufficiently move away from the relegation places. Rather, they lost the last two important games clearly against Akhisarspor and at home just with 0: 1 against Malatyaspor. There are only ten games left to start the turnaround. Anyway, Konyaspor has lost four out of the last six away matches and only managed to beat Alayanspor. The offensive is still the problem child of Konyaspor.

The two newly hired top strikers and big names Samuel Eto’o and Adis Jahovic have so far only been able to show modest successes and thus have not brought about a decisive turnaround. The double top remained goalless at least in the last two games and thus without success. Despite that, Jahvic scored an important goal in the match against Besiktas on Matchday 22 on Matchday Eto’o. Of course, the two should be the main focus of Galatasaray’s defense in the upcoming game, which will try to take the two largely out of the game. To make matters worse is currently a change of coach for the team of Konyaspor added. Mehmet Özdilek ended his post as coach after 128 days at Konyaspor and handed this over to 06.03.2018 to Sergen Yalin, who already worked for Sivaspor and Kayserispor as coach. Whether this change will have a positive or negative impact on the upcoming game is not predictable.
