Match preview: Cardiff – Scunthorpe

Finally, the boys from Cradiff have realized that no one from Championship won’t look at them as individuals, but only as a team.

Match preview: Burton – Chesterfield

Very tough game this one, but I simply hope that Chesterfield will get the most of this game and snatch a win. The draw series they have has confused me, but I still want something back from them as I lost my previous 3 tips because of them.

Match preview: Scotland – Northern Ireland

Match preview: Germany – Italy

2 European Giants will meet in the midweek international friendlies, the tightly contested match will see Germany play host to Italy with both team displaying an array of their new and promising players in the european football.

Cassano is once again back to the team after being dropped due to the Sampdoria affair and will once again partner Pazzini in the attack with both Rossi and Matri as additional option. In will be interesting to see if Govinco the ex- juventus Starlet will start for the team.

Overall both team have named a very strong line up for this fixture, which show their respect and seriousness towards their opponents and approach to the game. The last time they met was in the 06′ World Cup where the Italians took the game to extra time (FT :0-0) and disposed the host with 2 quick goals (AET :0-2) and went on to be crowned as the world champions.

The Germans will not allow history to repeat itself especially in front of the home crowd, while the Italians have rejuvenated under Coach Prandelli. This will be a very tightly contested match as the result varies greatly and taking the under 2.25 goaline would be a better option afterall it is a big match involving an italian team.

Match preview: Azerbaijan – Hungary

Match preview: Holland – Austria

Match preview: Republic of Ireland – Wales

This is the first match of the Nations cup tournament but it is more likely to be seen by the teams and coaches as a friendly, a lot of players have dropped out for both teams already but luckily enough both managers have picked the starting 11 and on looking at them i think the ROI are worth a bet.

The players from both teams are mainly Premiership in defense, but i would give the edge to the ROI as Dunne, o’Shea and St Ledger have a lot of experience playing together at international level, they are a settled unit and have young Ciaran Clark from Villa starting at left back who will hopefully be a replacement long term for Kilbane. Wales defense is quite strong as well but its in midfield and attack where i feel ROI could dominate, Wales start only Vaughan from Blackpool in the prem, the 2 strikers both play their trade in the Championship as do the other 3 midfielders, and while they are decent players they will be up against Duff(fulham)Gibson(ManU)Whelan and Walters(Stoke)Coleman(Everton) and the ever impressive big lump Kevin Doyle from Wolves up front with Walters.

That is a stronger unit in my opinion and with them playin in front of a home crowd i expect them to get a result, Doyler looks like a good shout to grab the first goal.

A note of caution would be it is only really a friendly and Trapattoni the ROI coach has already said he will use all 6 subs to see how the do, the Wales coach Gary Speed will be looking for a win in his 1st game in charge but with so many players crying off i think the team available are up against it
