Arsenal is coming after two consecutive defeats in the PL and they are looking to bounce back tomorrow evening against Birmingham. They’ve been hit by injuries for the entire season and this is still causing headaches to Wenger before tomorrow’s game. From the previous game against Chelsea, Sagna and Koscielny picked injuries and they are out. They’re added near Vermalen and Almunia, so 4 out 5 defensive players will miss. Anyway, Gibbs will be back and Djourou might get a chance to play near Squillaci in the center. Fabregas is also recovered by Wenger decided not to risk and use him only Tuesday. Bendtner and Walcott are also fully recovered and they might play some minutes against Birmingham.
Dull team
Alex McLeish’s side are a typical mid table tough to beat and aggressive team, all in one. Still, they are traditionally poor on the road and they didn’t start this season in a convincing manner. They lost 2 of their last 3 games and they will also have some squad problems for tomorrow’s clash from Emirates. Their missing numbers aren’t by far close to Arsenal’s but neither is their value and depth of the rooster. Two important regulars will miss tomorrow: midfielder Craig Gardner and striker James McFadden, first due to suspension, second due to injury. Striker Cameron Jerome is doubtful, while fringe player Beausejur is also injured.
Home win
I believe Arsenal will bounce back tomorrow in front of their own fans. Birmingham will probably defend and try to frustrate the hosts so Arsenal’s defensive missing will probably go unnoticed. On the other hand, their attacking players are fit most of all and I really expect a siege tomorrow on Emirates, with the game being played only in Birmingham’s half. If Arsenal will manage to keep a high tempo, I believe they can’t fail to win and they will do it even at a bigger margin.
