Ivory Coast failed to qualify for the African Cup of Natinal after winning a group which also included Sudan and Sierra Leone.
In qualifying for the 2018 World Cup, the Ivorians ranks first in the qualifying group with 4 points accumulated after 2 duels.
Before this tournament, the Ivorians have played several friendly matches. They drew with France and Zimbabwe, while in Sweden and Uganda have managed to win.

On the other side, Togo failed to qualify for the African Cup after he finished ranked 2nd in qualifying Group A with 11 points accumulated in 6 matches.
Togolezii have missed the chance to move to the next world championship, after losing in the 2nd round of qualifying in front of Uganda.
Unlike opponents of this afternoon, togolezii not fared too well in friendlies, where they drew with Comoros and lost in front of Morocco.
