Vancouver Whitecaps vs New York Red Bulls PREVIEW & PREDICTION 19/08/2018

VANCOUVER WHITECAPS VS NEW YORK RED BULLS PREVIEW & PREDICTION

They face one of the weakest defenses against one of the most lethal attacks in MLS. The Vancovuer defensive level is critical, with the third most beaten goal between both Conferences and adding that it comes from being thrashed 5-2 at midweek, in the Canadian Championship final, by Toronto. Although for the American contest they have three dates without losing, in them they always scored and received goals.

At least as local ‘whitecaps’ have obtained positive results lately, with triumphs laden with goals, which allow them to be close to the playoff area in the Western Conference. While in the other Conference, New York RB is just one point behind the leader Atlanta and comes to this match with wins in 5 of the last 6 days. He was not overwhelming in those victories but it was enough with the scoring presence of Wright-Phillips and Royer. Their recent away games have been of little emotion, but before a very fragile opponent in defense the situation should change.

– Only twice in the league season Vancouver managed to keep its goal to zero.

– 15 goals in this MLS for Bradley Wright-Phillips. He did 19 and 25 in the previous ones respectively.

– In 6 of the last 7 locations, Vancouver received at least 2 goals.

– New York RB lost on their last visit to Vancouver, in 2017 by Concachampions (2-0).

PREDICTION: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.68
