SEVILLA VS ALAVES PREVIEW & PREDICTION

In the final round of La Liga, Sevilla takes on Alaves in Sanchez Pizjuan. For both teams, apart from the sporting honor, nothing is at stake, so this duel has more of a friendly game of summer evening football.

Seville:

For Seville, this weekend is a mixed season coming to an end. In both the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, the Andalusians did well with a final and a quarter-finals place respectively, but the results in La Liga were rather disappointing. Due to his rotation system Eduardo Berizzo did not follow in the footsteps of predecessor Jorge Sampaoli. After only a few months, the Argentinian coach was traded in for Vincenzo Montella, but the Italian did not have a long life in the Sanchez Pizjuan either. Under interim manager Joaquin Caparros is in any case the seventh place and thus participation in the preliminaries of the Europa League secured. In theory, close attacker Getafe can still score the same in points, but the mutual result is in favor of Sevilla. It is, however, clear that there is still plenty of work to be done at Los Nerviones. However, the search for a new head coach is on the back burner, because the team must first appoint a new technical director.

That the current selection is out of balance is shown by the goal difference of -10 (48 goals for, 58 goals against). It may be called a small miracle that Sevilla managed to qualify for European football with such a goal difference, because even low flyers such as Espanyol and Athletic Bilbao can provide better figures. Not only are the red-whites in the back vulnerable, scoring also makes them difficult this season. Both Wissam Ben Yedder and Luis Muriel did not know how to convince, so Caparros decided to give Sandro Ramirez the chance at the end of the season in the final stage of the attack. He will receive support from Nolito and Pablo Sarabia on Saturday night from the wings.

Alaves:

Just like Sevilla, Alaves also had a turbulent season behind him. The Basques seemed for a long time doomed to relegation, but since trainer Abelardo Fernandez made his entry in the Mendizorroza in December last year, the club from Vitoria managed to get back to the Spanish middle class. If everything goes well, the blue-whites can even end up in the left-hand row. Of course, it is also pleased that Abelardo recently extended his contract with El Glorioso.

The modest Alaves must of course mainly do with rejections of larger teams, but on the basis of a healthy dose of work and fighting spirit, it is a long way. Especially the defense is barely cracking under Abelardo. Goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco only had to win twice in his last four matches and can not count for nothing on the interest of future opponent Sevilla. However, the Basques have to make it in the final round due to injuries without important players like Ruben Duarte, Alexis Ruano and Alfonso Pedraza. Defender Adrian Dieguez can therefore prepare for his sixth season competition, while attacker Ruben Sobrino will probably start on the left flank.

PREDICTION: Sevilla to win @ 1.42
