On Saturday, from 15pm, Reading receives Luton‘s visit, in the 16th round of the Championship, the English second league. Reading comes after home victories with Preston (1-0) and Milwall (2-1), and newly-promoted Luton is an even more accessible opponent for George Puscas’ team.
With the titular Romanian international, George Bowen’s band continued the good way in the last few weeks and prevailed against Milwall, who led 2-0 at the break. With a well-connected offensive game, to which Puscas also contributed, The Royals got three big points, which brought it closer to the upper area of the hierarchy. The positive shock caused by the manager’s change had a refreshing effect on Reading, who has a lot capable of fighting for play-offs in the second league.
Instead, Luton is still far from the level required in the Championship, and the team next to the Capital has lost four of the last five stages: 0-2 with Derby, 2-3 with Fulham, 1-2 with Birmingham and 1-2 with Nottingham. There are no easy matches in the Championship, but Reading is a team with more quality and a very good morale, so we expect a clear domination of the hosts. Moreover, the white-blue have pleasant memories from the last direct duel with Luton, score 5-1 on their own ground (2008).
