Wednesday evening, Sevilla will try to create an advantage before a difficult return on Old Trafford. Guests would not want to return to England without a goal scored.
Sevilla has never been the best of the Champions League. A double hand with Manchester United is not the best opportunity to beat previous performances. However, the hosts will give everything to their fans, where they have achieved excellent results this season. A good result on Wednesday evening may be the only chance for the Andalusians before returning to England.
Vincenzo Montella did not have a great start on the team but Sevilla did much better now. The Andalusians lost only one of the last nine games.
Manchester United has reached this stage for the first time since 2014. With five wins in group games, the English will be optimistic about qualifying chances.
United lost two games played away in the Premier League over the past month. Mourinho’s team managed to win the weekend game at Huddersfield. On Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, however, it will be more difficult to win. The Portuguese technician would probably be pleased with a draw if his students managed to score.
This will be the first direct meeting between the two clubs.
After suffering a weekend injury, Joaquin Correa may miss the Wednesday night match. Miguel Layun, who played in Porto, will not have the right to play for Sevilla in the elimination stages. Luis Muriel was on the bench for the match against Las Palmas and could be used against the English. Simon Kjaer could come back for hosts, but Banega’s presence on the pitch is less likely after missing in the last two games.
Paul Pogba missed the united cup match but returned to training and should be able to start the match as a holder. Zlatan ibrahimovic, Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford have recovered from a medical point of view, but they may not be able to figure out the physical condition for a match at this level. Alexis Sanchez should make his debut for United.
