LEVANTE VS BETIS PREVIEW & PREDICTION

Levante must add all sails to avoid relegation. The redblues have been without a victory for more than three months, but are keen to put a stop to that negative series on Monday evening in Valencia’s own Ciutat de Valencia. Opponent Real Betis scores very easily.

Levante:

Levante balances on a wafer-thin cord for weeks. The club from Valencia has been baking very little for weeks, but because the competition fails, it is still just on the right side of the relegation streak. However, if the team of coach Juan Muniz does not play football better, it is only a matter of time before the relegation ghost comes to the Ciutat de Valencia. Levante has not been able to win more than three months in La Liga and last week went to visit Real Sociedad with no chance 3-0. Chairman Quico Catalan then felt called to express his confidence in his coach, even though Muniz knows the laws of football. If he does not win very quickly, he can look for another job.

In an attempt to create something, Muniz plans to switch to a 4-4-2 formation on Monday night, with Pazzini and Roger Marti as the attack duo. Roger Marti had a big share in the promotion to La Liga last season in the Segunda Division as club top scorer, but has only recently recovered from a serious injury. In the friendly match against Russian Ufa (1-1), however, he showed that his score has not yet been forgotten. Levante can use his scoring power well, because with only 21 league goals, Los Granotas are one of the least scoring teams of La Liga. The redblue did not manage to win eight home games in a row in the competition, but they managed to stunt in their last home game by keeping Real Madrid on a 2-2 draw.

Betis:

The attack is the best defense ‘and’ Football is fun. ‘ I’m almost certain that Real Betis trainer Quique Setien has tiles with such football spells on his mantelpiece. The home game against Real Madrid last week also resulted in a real goals match. With a 2-1 halftime the Andalusians seemed to be on their way to a stunt, but in the end the Madrilenians were still too strong for the green-wits with 3-5 (!).

It was already the fifth time this season that Real Betis had five or more goals against him. In just 24 rounds, the green-witches got fifty counter-hits around their ears. Yet there has been some progress in the Andalusians’ play in recent weeks. Youth players such as Loren Moron and Junior Firpo recently broke through in the basic element of Setien and the attraction of Marc Bartra also proved to be a hit.

Also the decision to play with five defenders is good, even if that does not mean that Real Betis suddenly parks the bus. On the contrary, the green-greens shot no less than 43 times in their last three games, in contrast to thirty goal attempts in the three previous matches.

In addition, Real Betis always had the most possession in her last three matches. Even Real Madrid had to leave the initiative to Real Betis. All in all, despite a current tenth place, it could still be a nice season. The difference with the seventh place, which probably gives the right to European football, is only two points.

PREDICTION: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.84
