On Sunday evening, millions are at stake in Rome. Lazio Roma and Internazionale are going in a direct fight to decide who will participate in the Champions League next season. The hosts have a draw enough to secure the fourth place.
Lazio Roma:
That Roma Roma can not yet think about the upcoming holiday, the Romans owe themselves. The formation of trainer Simone Inzaghi has been on track for the last few months to win the final Champions League spot, but it is not always possible to deliver the knockout to Internazionale, the last remaining competitor. The top striker missed the last matches because of his injury and this last game seems to be too early. Stefan de Vrij could just end up on the couch. The central defender is about to move to Inter free and therefore it is in line with the expectation that Inzaghi will keep him on the bench.
Inter:
Internazionale led the Serie A ranking for a while during the first few months of the season, but after that the Milanese were faced with a considerable form of dip. The blue-blacks did not manage to keep up with Juventus and Napoli and later Inter also had to let both teams out of Rome. Inter managed to make the gap with the top four not too big and because of this, the team of trainer Luciano Spalletti could go over Lazio on the last day of play.
Just like Lazio, Inter does not look too good at the moment. In the last three games six expensive points were lost and that could be fatal at the end of the race. The most striking result is the 1-2 loss against Sassuolo last week. That game seemed to be extremely suitable in advance for a result, but nothing turned out to be less true. Rafinha scored for his own audience, but that turned out not to be enough to prevent the loss.
Inter, who played 0-0 earlier this season at home against Lazio, now needs a victory to grab the fourth place. A big advantage is that Spalletti will have his best players this week. So much is expected of Mauro Icardi. The Argentinian striker produced ten goals in his last ten games.
