Jong Ajax vs Jong AZ PREVIEW & PREDICTION 16/10/2020

On Friday evening, Young AZ travels to Amsterdam to visit Young Ajax at Sportpark De Toekomst. Both teams have a changeable start and can use a victory well.

Young Ajax:

Prior to the new Kitchen Champion Division season, Young Ajax was seen as one of the teams that could make it very difficult for title candidates such as SC Cambuur and De Graafschap. The promises of Amsterdam are extremely talented, but also very young. A lot was expected from a player like Naci Ünüvar, but the youngster is currently struggling with a small form dip.

After three consecutive losses, convincing victories followed against Go Ahead Eagles and Excelsior. The leak seemed to be over for Young Ajax, but at the beginning of October the U21 team had to deal with a new damper. On a visit to title contender NAC Breda, the promise team lost 4-0 without a chance. During the game, the team from Amsterdam never claimed a victory and eventually had to watch with sorrow how Sidney van Hooijdonk scored a hat-trick.

Young AZ Alkmaar:

Also this season there will be a lot of surprising results in the Kitchen Champion Division. A few weeks ago, young AZ undoubtedly caused the biggest stunt by treating title contender De Graafschap to a 7-3 defeat. However, it was not possible to build on this, because a week later the U21 team lost 2-0 against FC Dordrecht, the last season’s last season. After six games, the Alkmaarders are in twelfth place in the first division, a position they will not be completely dissatisfied with.

Young AZ played against MVV at their own sports complex for the international period. Thanks to a goal from Mo Taabouni, the promises team took the lead against the proportions. Not much later, the margin was doubled by the attacker. Thanks to Joeri Schrooijen, the people of Maastricht found the connection goal before halftime. Thijs Oosting put the AZ reserves team back on a comfortable lead after more than an hour of play. The game seemed over, but MVV still fought for a draw thanks to goals from Thibaut van Acker and Jerome Deom.
