JENA VS MAGDEBURG PREVIEW & PREDICTION

In the 3rd league a game of the 30th match day will be rescheduled on Tuesday evening at 19 o’clock. The meeting had been canceled due to weather conditions. In the Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld FC Carl Zeiss Jena receives 1. FC Magdeburg. The FCM still has three points behind leaders Paderborn after the 34th matchday with 70 points. With a win in the catching game, the Elbestädter could catch up with the leader. Currently, the team of coach Jens Härtel already eight points ahead of the relegation place three and could extend this to eleven points.

Paderborn and Magdeburg could plan for the second division four games before the end of the season. For promoted Carl Zeiss Jena, the season was already as good as gone. With 40 points, the FC is only on place 15, but with eleven points clear of the first relegation place the league already almost certain. The FC Magdeburg is clearly on second division course. After defeating KSC 2-0 at home on penultimate round and beating Karlsruhern’s first defeat after 21 unbeaten games, the FCM won the next promotion contender on Friday. With the 2: 1 at SV Wehen Wiesbaden the team of coach Härtel took another important threesome in the race for promotion. The 1. FC Magdeburg is unbeaten in the league thus for seven games and was able to win the last three games all. In the away table is Magdeburg with 18 points from 16 games in third place. Nine games abroad were won, but there were already six defeats.

In the second half of the season, the FCM is currently in fourth place with 27 points from 14 games. While some players like attacker Christian Beck are very optimistic, coach Härtel tries to slow down the euphoria: “We now have a bit of air on the go, but nothing has been achieved yet.” They wanted to remain cautious and look only to the next game. In Magdeburg missing Marius Sowislo due to a yellow card suspension. Main goalkeeper Jan Glinker had to fit on Friday in Wiesbaden because of Achilles tendon problems. His assignment on Tuesday is questionable. Magdeburg’s number two Alexander Brunst celebrated his third league debut in Wiesbaden. Also Michel Niemeyer, Felix Schiller, Tarek Chahed and Julius Düker are expected to fall out.
