Season mediocre

Fiorentina ranks 8th in Serie A, with 52 points gathered in 32 stages. Paulo Sousa’s boys will soon finish what we can call a really disappointing season for Viola fans. Eliminated prematurely from the elimination stages of the UEFA Europa League, Fiorentina quickly cracked in the Italian Cup, where it was eliminated in quarterfinals by Napoli (0-1). In the championship, things do not look good at all. Violets did not give the impression at any moment that they would have a better chance of taking a place in Europe, registering poor results and surprising draws in front of lower net bands. Consequently, the wounded pride in front of their supporters is the only trumpet of violets for confrontation with Inter, on Saturday.

After an exceptional run in Serie A under Stefano Pioli, “nerazzurii” pass through a less fast time, failing to feel the taste of five-stage success. Basically, it all started from the justifiable draw on Torino’s field (2-2), Inter taking down two surprising defeats, especially from the newly promoted Crotone (2-1). Moreover, the “Derby della Madonnina” offered a sad new episode to the “nerazzuri” fans, their team accounting for only a draw in front of the big rival in the city after leading 2-0 in the 82nd minute. Even so, his band Pioli still has the theoretical chances of being one of the Europa League, but it remains to be seen if, after all, Inter will want this.
