Dyn. Kyiv vs FC Astana PREVIEW & PREDICTION 20/09/2018

The tension is currently to cut in the Olympic Stadium in Kiev. Dynamo Kiev is out of shape and so trainer Aleksandr Khatskevich is on the kick chair. A defeat in the Europa League match against Astana may well mean his end.

Dynamo Kiev:

The Ukrainian football giant Dynamo Kiev has a hard time. The team has been in the shadow of Shakhtar Donetsk in recent years and has to let this arch rival again this year because of frequent point loss. The captains initially had a good start to the season, but they lost it to Ajax after the elimination in the Champions League playoffs. Last weekend, Dynamo Kiev suffered a point loss for the third time in a row by playing 1-1 at Zorya.

The results are disappointing, so is the crisis in the Olympic Stadium in Kiev. The pressure on trainer Aleksandr Khatskevich became even so great that he wanted to hand in his contract on his own initiative. Chairman Igor Surkis, however, still has confidence in his trainer and refused therefore to comply with his request. In case of a defeat against Astana, however, he could just change his mind.

Astana:

Astana is no longer unknown in European football. Thanks in part to the financial support of the Kazakh government, the yellow shirts have grown into a dangerous opponent. Last season, the team already wrote football history by being the first Kazakh club ever to overwinter in the Europa League, an achievement that it hopes to match this season.

Former success coach Stanimir Stoilov was tempted last summer to the national coach of Kazakhstan, but also under successor Roman Hryhorchuk runs smeared in the Astana Arena. With 58 points from 24 games, the team also races this year again on the national title, so the real challenge lies in Europe. Astana always knows better what is being asked at this level. Until recently Astana, partly due to the enormous travel distances, almost always disappointed in European away games, but that is now a thing of the past with only two defeats in the last seven European bouts. In addition, Kiev naturally flies far less than Jablonec and Rennes, the other two participants in group K.
