Doncaster vs Accrington PREVIEW & PREDICTION 23/04/2019

Tuesday evening at 19:45, Doncaster Rovers receives Accrington Stanley’s visit in a 44th round of the third league in England. The League One duels are very balanced and the show has not missed the direct matches played by Doncaster and Accrington over the last few years. The conjuncture of this season causes us to bet again.

The tour was 1-0 for Accrington, and Doncaster is now looking for a revenge, especially as white-reds need a lot of points in the fight for promotion. With an excellent momentum, Rovers starts his favorite in the duel on his own ground, but the share for his victory is on the rise.

Doncaster is on the 6th place (71-54) and has the weakest defensive in the Top 6. However, Rovers is the last place to play-off with a four-point lead over Peterborough and five points to Coventry City. Accrington is in 16th place (43-64 goals) and has relegation emotions: John Coleman’s team has only four points ahead of AFC Wimbledon, the first line-up band to hope for rescue. On his own home, Doncaster rarely makes concessions to his opponents: Tuesday’s favorite lost just two rounds of 21 home games, managing 12 wins and 7 draws.

Accrington is far from being a driving force, where he scored 22 goals this season for 6 wins and 6 draws in 21 rounds. The shape of the guests is not impressive, after 0-3 with Luton, 0-1 with Rochdale and 0-3 with Sunderland, in the previous five stages. Stanley also got a draw with AFC Wimbledon (1-1), but also a victory at the limit against Walsall, score 2-1. Doncaster has been exuberant in his home lately, with victories against Plymouth (2-0), Walsall (3-1) and Bristol Rovers (4-1). Fixed phases represent a strong point for white-reds, which are very dangerous for corners and free kicks.

In the past, Rovers tilted on Sunderland’s field, score 0-2, but visitors played well after the goals scored in the first half hour. It was the only failure suffered in the last five stages by Grant McCann’s students, who start with the first chance of success. We’re on a spectacular match between two defensive teams that might surprise each other in the middle of the week. There are no big batch problems in the two camps.
