Austria vs Northern Ireland PREVIEW & PREDICTION 12/10/2018

Friday evening, at 19:45, Austria receives Northern Ireland’s visit to the second round of the UEFA Nations League. Both bands have begun their left-wing competition, with failures in front of the Bosnian leader. The gameplay of the two of us recommends a bet on the corners, but the best selection seems to be the white-red victory, which has an excellent balance on the ground.

The odds speak for themselves about the imbalance of this match. Michael O’Neill’s Ireland is not very generous in attack when playing on foreign ground, and Austrians will dominate the hostilities from the start. Austria has outposts Marko Arnautovic, which can cause much danger alone, due to its exceptional qualities. With 4 goals in the first 7 matches played in the Premier League this season, “Arnie” will be the host of the host attack line and will be constantly powered by balloons, both in the air and grass.

Northern Ireland comes to defend the “Ernst Happel” arena, as it did in the last trips, whether official or friendly matches. The lack of efficacy of white-greens on foreign terrain is chronic: 4 consecutive no-goal games with Norway (0-1), Costa Rica (0-3), Switzerland and Panama (0-0 in both). Austria, on the other hand, has only one defeat in its last 13 home games and has only succumbed to Brazil in the last year (0-2)! For the two bands, Friday night’s duel is decisive in the League of Nations after failures with Bosnia.

Austria lost 0-1 in front of the Balkans, goal scored by Dzeko, and lack of inspiration in the adversary was obvious for Franco Foda’s band. The Irish handed home to Belfast, 1-2, and Griegg’s lead in extra time just gave the fans a few seconds of hope. Northern Ireland did not play bad and had many good opportunities to score, but the lack of class of strikers did not provide national service. With 18 corners checked against the Bosnians, Northern Ireland will also rely on fixed phases.

Direct duels seem to favor Irish national, which has 4 wins, 3 draws and only two failures in front of Austria. On their own ground, the Austrians won only two of the five matches played against the weekend rivals! The last time the two bands met, the white-reds had a win-win: 2-0 at home and 3-3 away in the 2006 CM qualifiers. This time we expect the favorites to be imposed because they have more quality. Bets on corners are recommended between two bands that attack a lot on the flank.

PREDICTION: Under 2.5 goals @ 1.65
