Preview

AS Monaco – FC Lorient: 22nd January 2017

AS Monaco FC (1st place in the rankings)

The team coached by Leonardo Jardim confirmed last weekend why they are in first place among the most efficient offensive in Europe, winning emphatically (4-1) derby with Marseille on “Stade Vélodrome”. Performance in the previous round is especially notable with his band as Garcia received a single goal at home throughout the tour championship.
AS Monaco took the wrong step made by Nice at home in Metz dispute, succeeding the end of the first stage of return to occupy leadership chair. The two teams had the same number of points, goal difference but the band was in the Principality.

Nice has already moved in this round, having drawn (1-1) on the field of Bastia.

During the good of Monaco in the first part of the season it has been somewhat anticipated (were rated in summer getting the third to conquer the ultimate trophy, after PSG and Lyon), but actual developments, especially on the offensive phase, exceeded the expectations of most football fans. The results also recorded in the Champions League were exceptional Falcao & co. easily winning the qualification on the first position of the group to which they belonged (with Tottenham, CSKA Moscow and Bayer Leverkusen).

About the impressive figures of AS can write several pages. We will merely mention just won 8 of the last 9 games of the Ligue 1 in front of their fans, being able to point out at least twice (the only exception being Lyon game ended with the score of 1-3).

The recent past had left the impression of a slightly setback. Beyond the defeat in the duel with Lacazette and his (only at home in the current season) successes checked with Caen (2-1), Ajaccio (2-1 in the French Cup) and Sochaux (qualification after shootout) they were quite tortured. These benefits have made unconvincing in specialized French press to talk about a state of acute fatigue, but the game against Marseille and contradicted all those who were beginning to doubt the strength of the band’s Jardim.

FC Lorient (No. 19 in the rankings)

Although occupy the penultimate place in the standings, the team of northwestern France showed significant improvements lately, checking two wins in the league (2-1 vs Saint-Etienne vs. Guingamp 3-1) and one in the French Cup (2 Nice vs. -1). However, it should be kept in mind that these results were recorded in the “Stade du Moustoir” Lorient still having great difficulty in expressing themselves coherently away (just two points won throughout the movie).

Bernard Casoni and took his place on the bench Ripoll those at Lorient in early November. An obvious change for the better is the offensive phase, Lorient with an average of 2 goals scored per game under new coach command. In comparison, in the post-Casoni, the number of successes the match was somewhere in 0.70.

Probable Teams:

The hosts can not rely on Mendy (suspended), Dirar and Traore (away at the African Cup).

The situation is more complicated camp guests. Aliadiere, Selemani, Conte are injured, while Moukandjo and Toure are the competition taking place these days on African soil.

AS Monaco (4-4-2): Subasic – Sidibe, Jemerson, Diallo, Raggi – Boschilia, Moutinho, Fabinho, Jean – Carrillo, Mbappe-Lottin

Lorient (4-3-3): Lecomte – Moreira, Peybernes, Ciani, Goff – Mvuemba, Lautoa, Mesloub – Marveaux, Waris, Cabot
