Preview

Today at 14:00 the round number 26 of Premier League, where will be face to face Tottenham and West Ham. Tottenham host West Ham in this London derby, and with the Europa League back in full swing they are facing a tough run tonight.

Spurs have been inconsistent of late, following a victory over Arsenal with a disappointing road loss to Liverpool and tough home draw to Fiorentina in the Europa League. Spurs sit in sixth, just four points out of fourth place with a game in hand.Tottenham have been let down by their defending of late, unable to post a clean sheet in three matches. A good news is that Pochettino has reported no new injury for tonight’s match and will have a fully-fit squad at his disposal. He is in the difficult position of having to prioritise between trying to finish fourth in the league and trying to win the Europa League as he looks to bring Champions League football back to the Lane.

Because the team want’s the Europa League it is possible that this will have an effect on Tottenham in the long run – but not against West Ham. It’s difficult to play on Thursdays and then again on a Sunday but they can put that to one side against a West Ham side who have hit a brick wall. Spurs will keep the pressure on in the race for the top four with a very good win. They are unbeaten in their last seven home matches in the league (W5, D2) – having lost four of their first six.
By the other side, West Ham is situated on the 8th place in the rankings, five points behind Spurs, West Ham have failed to win their last 5 away matches in the Premier League. The Hammers form has fallen off of late after sitting top-4 for much of the season. The defense has been found wanting though, as James Collins and Carl Jenkinson look to slow down Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen. Winston Reid and Matt Jarvis are all available after recovering from injuries.
The Hammers, meanwhile, have only the Premier League to concentrate on and will be looking for a repeat of last season’s incredible 3-0 win at White Hart Lane. They beat Spurs 3 times last season but lost on the opening day of last season so will be after revenge to put an end to their current run of 4 games without a win.
