The situation will be a bit clearer tomorrow; if we can take three points it would put us in the ideal position to reach the knockout rounds.

In the league we have to get positive results; in the Champions League it’s different – the players are a bit more relaxed and have less pressure on them. Since arriving here I’ve followed a footballing logic and I make decisions according to this logic. Tomorrow my players will be motivated but they need to have more confidence. We won’t have our backs against the wall like in the league and the players will be able to take more risks. The opportunity is there [to get six points from back-to-back games against Genk]. The group is tight so anything can happen. It’s an unpredictable situation we want to fix by winning this game and putting ourselves in a better position. This is a very important game.

Both games [with Porto against Genk last season] were well contested, with chances for each side. We scored early in first game but it was tight and they had opportunities for a different result. They scored early in the second leg but we were lucky and got away with a good result. They were two competitive games.

The only headache I have regards my tactical selection, but we have lots of different options in different positions and there is a good battle for places, which ensures that all of the players have to give their best. Although Thorsten Fink is no longer there, the way he played will be ingrained in them and they will probably play the same way.
